Coverage of World Baseball Classic 2023 in the Czech media

The diploma thesis entitled Coverage of World Baseball Classic 2023 in the Czech media focuses on the analysis of media coverage of the unofficial World Baseball Championship on the Czech stage. At this international tournament, for the first time in history, the Czech national team presented itself, which along with it brought a unique opportunity to bring an unexpanded sport closer to the wider public, something that the national team itself strove for. The thesis covers media content in television, internet and print media. All content during March 2023 is examined, covering the period before, during and after the championship. The thesis specifically analyzes the form and extent of broadcasts on the ČT Sport channel, which owned the television rights to the tournament, and compares the coverage of baseball on the two most watched Czech news programs on ČT1 and TV Nova. It also balances six selected relevant websites with a sports theme (iSport.cz, iDNES.cz, Sport.cz, SeznamZprávy.cz, Deník.cz a ČeskáTelevize.cz) against each other. Additionally, it examines the only Czech sports newspaper Deník Sport. The thesis is supplemented by an interview with a representative of its editors, who reported on the event directly from the venue.

The effect of compensatory exercises on typical muscle imbalances in 12 and 13 years old baseball players

Title: The effect of compensatory exercises on typical muscle imbalances in baseball players aged 12 and 13 years Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to verify the effectiveness of the developed compensatory set in baseball players aged 12 and 13 years, in the U13 age category. To prove the effect of compensatory exercises on typical muscle imbalances in boys aged 12 and 13 years. METHODS: In a quasi-experiment, the effect of compensatory exercises in baseball players aged 12 and 13 years was investigated using physiotherapy examinations. The research sample consisted of 33 boys. The research sample was divided into two groups from different baseball clubs. The experimental group of 16 boys completed the compensatory exercises. The control group of 17 boys did not complete the compensatory exercises. The intervention lasted a total of 3 months, 3 times. The compensatory exercise of 15 minutes was applied in the final phase of the training unit. The method of data collection was kinesiological analysis before the project started. A matching examination was performed after 3 months for both groups mentioned above. Evaluation of the organization of a chosen sport event

Title: Evaluation of a selected sport event - The European U18 Baseball Championship Objectives: The objective of this master thesis is to present the strengths and weaknesses of the organization of the European Junior Baseball Championships (European U18 Championship) held in August 2022. Furthermore, based on the information gathered from interviews, observations and participant surveys, to identify opportunities proposing implementation, as well as to identify threats and proposing their elimination for the future organization of tournaments in the Czech Republic. Methods: The master thesis uses three research methods (semi-structured interviews, participant observation, questionnaire survey) and one analytical method (SWOT analysis). The views of the participants of the event are gathered through an electronic questionnaire sent to the emails of all participants of the U18 European Championship in 2022. The organizers' views on the preparations and the course of the tournament are obtained through semi-structured interviews conducted with two members of the Czech Baseball Association's organizing team. BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author: Jan Imramovský Supervisor: Mgr. Jakub Jeníček, Ph.D. Title: Physiotherapy in patients with medial epicondylitis of sports-related etiology. With a focus on baseball players Abstract: The bachelor thesis is of a theoretical-practical type. The thesis deals with problematics of medial epicondylitis in baseball players. Medial epicondylitis is a widely known condition. However, baseball players are atypical population with atypical needs in terms of specific approach in prevention, treatment and returning to sport. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis provides in three parts a comprehensive insight into studied area. The first part describes relevant anatomy, histology nad kinesiology of the elbow. The second part contains an introduction into baseball as a game and in particular its most specific motion, the pitiching motion. Part three discusses the epidemiology, etiopatogenesis, clinical picture, diagnostics and both conservative and radical approach to treatment of medial epicondylitis.
